TechSoup provides resources for those who would like to donate hardware, those who would like to acquire recycled hardware, and refurbishers.

Gateway Asset Recovery Services
Recycle ten or more units for as little as $30 per unit. If your assets can be remarketed, you may receive credit towards future Gateway purchases. Gateway disposal methods comply with EPA regulations.

Dell Recycling Program
Recycle PCs, monitors, printers, mice/keyboards, scanners, and more for $7.50 per unit. Dell will pick the equipment up from your house and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner. Buy a Dell printer and the company will dispose of your old printer for free. Dell can also help you donate full systems to the National Cristina Foundation (see below).

Hewlett-Packard Hardware Recycling Program
Order recycling services on-line at a cost ranging from $13 to $34 per item, depending upon the type and quantity of hardware to be returned. This site also contains information about inkjet/laser cartridge recycling as well as the HP trade-in program. Applies to Compaq systems as well.

Apple Recycling
Recommendations on disposing of your Apple hardware. Contact your Apple Service Provider for more information.

Technology Recycling
With operations in all of the lower 48 states, Technology Recycling is another option for equipment recycling. The company charges $40 per component and claims to recover 100% of materials used manufacturing.

PC Disposal
PC Disposal offers free freight and pick up of 10 units or more. For smaller pickups, you can request a quote online.

National Cristina Foundation
National Cristina Foundation (NCF) provides computer technology and solutions to give people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons the opportunity, through training, to lead more independent and productive lives.

National Coalition for Educational and Cultural Programs
Provides options to donate unwanted computers to students, senior citizens, and other individuals who may not otherwise be able to afford them.

TecsChange - Technology For Social Change
TecsChange is an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to help organizations in the developing world use technology to promote progressive social change. The agency gathers equipment from local companies, institutions and individuals, refurbishes and tests it, and donates it to overseas organizations. They're also partners with Tent City's Community Technology Center to train inner-city youth how to fix computers. Kids earn computers for themselves, as part of the training program. Computer Assets
