Program area(s): The grantmaker has identified the following area(s) of interest:

 

Community: Supports a broad range of human services, youth development, community improvement, and cultural arts programs. Human service programs of current interest include early childhood development, parenting education, domestic violence, and child abuse prevention. The foundation supports youth development programs that work to build character, leadership and social skills. Emphasis for community improvement is placed on projects that enhance nonprofit management and promote philanthropy and voluntarism. Cultural arts programs are typically educational outreach activities for youth.

 

Education: Primary interests include programs that focus on formal K-12 education (particularly mathematics, science, and reading), after-school tutoring, and integrating technology into curriculum, teacher development, and higher education. The foundation is particularly interested in programs that raise literacy levels and programs that attract female and minority students into the fields of mathematics, science, and technology.

 

Medicine/Health: Promotes the health and well-being of children and families and, on a more limited basis, medical research programs.

Types of support: Conferences/seminars, Matching/challenge support, Program development, Research.

Limitations: No support for organizations limited by race or religion. No grants to individuals, or for deficit financing, building or endowment funds, indirect costs, special events, disaster relief funds, student research projects, political lobbying, or equipment; no loans.

Application information: Unsolicited requests for funds not considered on an international basis. Application form required. Applicants should submit the following:

2) Listing of board of directors, trustees, officers and other key people and their affiliations

3) Copy of most recent annual report/audited financial statement/990

4) Brief history of organization and description of its mission

5) Copy of current year's organizational budget and/or project budget

6) Listing of additional sources and amount of support
