TECHFOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Brian Allain
Brian Allain is a seasoned high-tech executive who has led the launch of numerous successful product businesses at both startups and Fortune 500 companies.  Brian currently services as Vice President and General Manager of Voice and Data Business at 3Com.  Prior to 3Com Brian served as president of Ranch Networks, data networking equipment startup.  Brian was also chief operating officer for GeoVideo Networks, a video-over-Internet Protocol (IP) company, and vice presidentof marketing for dynamicsoft, a telecommunications software company.  Earlier, Brian led innovative new product launches at Avaya Communications, Lucent Technologies, AT&T, and Bell Labs.  These launches included the first IP PBX at Avaya and the first Voice-over-IP system for service providers at Lucent.  In addition to his professional activities, he serves on the board of directors of TechFoundation and supports numerous non-profit organizations.  Allain received an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Palmer Scholar.  He received his Masters and Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

David Altshuler
Before founding TechFoundation, Altshuler was executive director of TCN, a technology and telecommunications consulting operation founded with the support of the Ford Foundation and Carnegie Corporation.  Previously, he was president and chief technology officer for MAC Systems, a small database-consulting firm that supported money management firms.  Altshuler was also director of MIS for International Investors and a member of the Investment Company Institute Operations Committee.  Working with firms such as Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and International Investors, he played a key role in designing and executing the first database used to collect industry-wide financial statistics.  Altshuler has taught at The Wharton School and The Law School at University of Pennsylvania where he was the 1999-2000 Irey Grant Memorial Lecturer in Business Law and Finance.  He is a trustee of the Huntington Theatre Company and New England Aquarium in Boston, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Altshuler is a graduate of Williams College and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Alexander Webb
Alexander S. Webb is president of Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont.  Webb was the general manager of Shelburne Farms before being elected president in 1988.  He helped plan and coordinate the development of Shelburne Farms as a nonprofit organization and has been active in local land use planning, agriculture and environmental education projects for many years.  He also serves as treasurer on the board of the Vermont Community Foundation.
